Aragatz is the highest point in the republic of Armenia (4092 m). For centuries it has been a worship subject and many folk legends and stories have been developed in these centuries. It has also been vaunted by the classics many times. The crater is surrounded by four tops and through their cracks the snow melted water falls down to the valley. The weather on Aragatz is very unpredictable but experienced guides will make all the necessary arrangements to provide your safety. The climbing to the top starts from the Kari lake.
Aragatz has also had a military meaning, a lot of castles were built on its slopes. One of them is called Amberd, which we will also visit on our way back and watch the sunset from the castle walls. At the end of the excursion we will visit Tegher monastery.
