The first destination of our tour is monastery complex of Tsaghats Kar, which is located in mountains of Vayots Dzor. It is well known for its sculptures and khachkars where the ancient elements of architectural art cross. From the complex you will see a beautiful view of the mountain in front, where Smbataberd fortress stands and which is the next subject of our trip. The name of this fortress is originally known from the descriptions of Vahanants battle (V cen.). Then we’ll go down to the st. Zorats Astvatzatzin church which had a special mission, it blessed the soldiers going to war. On the way back we will also see the medieval settlement near Eghegis village.
